For me, a novice writer at best, submitting my baby, my first draft of ‘My Time of Eagles’ for an edit was quite daunting. Where it goes now after Richard’s appraisal is up to me. But I feel now that with the aid of his detailed, meticulous breakdown into structure, dialogue, theme, etc. I now have real direction in the areas needing attention. Thanks so much Richard for shining a light on the bones of my story, and giving me the encouragement and ongoing follow-up to achieve my goal.

To be honest I really didn’t know what to expect getting the developmental edit done. This was my first book, and I had never gone through the process before. I thought I might have just wasted my money. But I am happy to say my concerns were unwarranted. I couldn’t have been happier with the overview he gave me. The reshaping ideas, the cleaning up and the highlighting insight he gave me. I think he really took my book to the next level, taking it from amateur to professional.

Thank you, Richard, for kindly looking at the first chapters of Friend and Foe, the first volume of my Queensland Saga five novel series which combines a true story of the amazing happenings here between the 1860′s and the 1990′s with a sprawling, multi-generational family epic. I really appreciated your respectful but most helpful approach to working with a writer new to the fiction craft. Your suggestions were excellent and led to significant improvements. You deserve success with your editing services company. Kind regards………….John Besley.

It has been my pleasure to mentor Richard Andrews in assessing and editing manuscripts. Richard shows sound aptitude, has a keen eye for detail and a professional and balanced tone when preparing his assessment report. His assessments are thorough and provide good feedback to the author, tactfully suggesting any areas that might need review while complimenting what has been done well. With exposure to a range of works across genres, his skills and insights will gain further depth.
Kaaren Sutcliffe: Accredited Editor, manuscript assessor and author
I think it’s a wonderful initiative and will benefit Queensland writers tremendously. I know I received a great deal from the experience. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank you for assigning Richard Andrews to my story. He was unfailingly patient and supportive. I have learnt much from him, and I believe my writing will improve as a direct result of his input. Thank you, again.

Richard Andrews and I have collaborated on several projects simultaneously for the same client. I have found Richard’s work to be precise and diligent. Not only does he possess great depth of knowledge of grammar, but he was able to unify the material contextually and help organise it into a meaningful whole. With his professional approach, he provided substantive revisions, and his constructive critiques or suggestions concerning the layout and design also made a significant contribution to the visual appearance of the publications. If you ever need an English editor, I highly recommend Richard.

Richard, you are more than just a “proof reading” person (you have additional value in your service) for the reasons as follows:
You were really helpful and willing to do work for me and sent the work although it was in an “impossible” situation (you had to finish the work in a really short time frame in your busy work schedule).
You are trust-able, for any student like me in my critical situation that had to submit the document in a certain time, can rely on you. You delivered the work just in time, so I could finish and submit my document on time.
In my opinion, a really good service needs to be supported by other values, such as trust (reliable), discipline (on time), good quality (proven by professional works) and you have all those three criteria..!!
Thank you for supporting me in my writing….
